Welcome to North Sydney Academy of Music! Our policies and terms and conditions are designed to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for all our students and instructors. By enrolling in our programs, students and parents/guardians agree to abide by the following guidelines.
1. Enrolment and Fees
- Non-Refundable Registration: Once registered, the enrolment fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
- Payment: All tuition and fees must be paid in full by the specified due date. Failure to do so may result in the student's removal from the program or lose the desired spot.
2. Lesson Cancellation and Make-Up Policy
- Notice Requirement: A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for all lesson cancellations. This policy applies to all reasons for cancellation except for health-related issues.
- Health-Related Cancellations: In cases of sudden illness or health-related reasons, the 24-hour notice requirement is waived. However, these cancellations are not refundable and will count towards the two make-up lessons allowed per term. Medical certificate may be required.
- How to Cancel: Cancellations must be communicated via phone/email/online portal. Please provide your full name, lesson date, and the reason for cancellation when notifying us.
- Make-Up Lessons Eligibility: Each student is entitled to a maximum of two make-up lessons per term, regardless of the reason for the cancellation.
- Scheduling Make-Up Lessons: Make-up lessons will be scheduled based on the availability of instructors and studio space. We will make every effort to accommodate make-up lessons within the current term. If this is not possible, make-up lessons may be scheduled during the following holiday period.
- Procedure: To schedule a make-up lesson, please contact the administration office as soon as possible after your cancellation. Make-up lessons are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
- No Extra Make-Up Lessons: If more than two lessons are missed in a term, additional missed lessons will not be eligible for make-up, rescheduling, or refund.
- Non-Transferable: Make-up lessons are non-transferable. They must be used by the student who missed the original lesson and cannot be transferred to another student or term.
3. Instructor Cancellations
- If an instructor needs to cancel a lesson, a make-up lesson will be arranged at a mutually convenient time. This make-up lesson will not count towards the student's two make-up lessons per term.
4. Holidays and School Closures
- Scheduled holidays and school closures will be announced at the beginning of each term. Lessons that fall on these dates will not be counted as missed and will be rescheduled accordingly.
5. Participation and Media Consent
- Event Participation: Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to participate proactively in school events, including concerts, recitals, and other activities.
- Media Consent: By registering, parents/guardians allow students' photos or videos to be taken during lessons, concerts, or events. These images may be used for school news and advertisements.
